What A Day of Emotions and Praises!
This afternoon we had Nolan’s kidney test – the VCUG. They also did a follow up ultrasound. After lots of waiting, the doctor finally came in! Remember that 20 was the “danger” zone and that his left side had gotten up to a 17 at one point. Last ultrasound it was at a 15 – it had been there pretty much since he was born. HOWEVER, today he said it had gotten down to a FIVE!!!! FIVE!!!! He said it looked great! The VCUG showed no blockage and no reflux – he said it looked great too along with his bladder. He even said we could go off the medicine! We’ve given that child an antibiotic every day for all these weeks (11 today!), and now finally no more! We are continuing it through the rest of the week to ensure he doesn’t get an infection from the catheter today, but after that we’re done. Good thing – it’s hard to remember to do that everyday! We go back in October for a follow up appointment to check it out. Oh, I can’t tell you the joy I felt that this is really finally mostly over! This has been our great concern for 30 weeks now! It’s such a relief that the Lord has taken care of it. I couldn’t believe it resolved itself so quickly – it fell by 10 in just a few weeks! Oh, God is good! Thanks to all of you for your prayers.
And, we just got home from my baby’s Pre-K graduation. That sweet baby girl of mine has her last day of preschool Thursday. Tonight she stood on her stage in her adorable cap and gown – tassel and all smiling and giggling and eating up her family watching her. Oh, what a sweet girl! I actually didn’t cry. I got teary when we walked down the hallway and everyone was getting ready. We were borrowing bobby pins to pin her hat to her head and there were her friends and all their mommas all around. We were fixing gowns, sashes, hats, and tassels and I had a scary fast forward to her graduating from high school and a bunch of moms borrowing bobby pins to fix hats on big girls. That probably won’t happen because they won’t want us back there, but it is crazy to imagine the road ahead. It was such a sweet night and her class is all girls except for one boy graduating! Oh, they were just filled with joy laughing and singing and enjoying each other. It was a pleasure to watch. I’m so proud of her, and I’m so thankful to the Lord for the gift she is.
I still haven’t figured out how to get pictures off my new camera, but I will by this weekend, and then I’ll have a huge photo post to catch you all up. There were adorable pictures tonight!
