Whispers

I haven’t done this in a while – it’s not a post I want to overuse.  Here’s the first one if you missed it.  Whispers posts are basically those that just let you share how God is speaking to you.  What’s He teaching you?  How is He whispering his love and lessons to you?  It can be in quiet ways or in big ways, small lessons or big ones… whatever!  Or, just what is God teaching you through your quiet times – whatever!  Just share!

For me, I’m learning through the Can We Talk study by Priscilla Shirer (see some discussion here) about listening more than speaking.  I am a wordy person (hence my long blog posts), and I’ve been told recently that sometimes I just don’t listen.  Those are hard words to listen to!  :)   But, they are ones I am taking to heart.  I am really working on the verse, “Be quick to listen and slow to speak, slow to take offense and get angry.”  Wow, if I could just get that down, my life would be a lot easier I think (and other people’s around me!)  For those of you doing that study, you recognize that is only week one’s lesson.  I have gone really in depth with it, but it’s not a book I’m speeding through.  Summers are just hard with our schedule, and I will complete it – it just may be in the fall.

But, that’s what God is whispering to me – listen more, speak less.  What about you??

    Hey Sarah.

I’m a reader..but don’t often comment. But this really made me stop and think, “what has God been saying to me lately?” Immediately I was reminded to “worship more and worry less”. Worship. Trust. And quit trying to figure things out! As a mom of three, life can get crazy at any given moment….and God’s even asking me to “worship Him” in those times too.

ooohh.. so many to say… I often ask God specifically how I can minister to someone: through a card, sharing a verse, phone call, meal, etc. and He tells me. Sometimes even what to cook. I love the details.
